“Sing Over Me” 20 x 30 acrylic on Canvas . Alaska has its own moods that are indescribable. The arctic light and atmosphere create an ever shifting view that one wouldn’t believe unless seen. As I was trying to capture the effect of the sun coming up, I kept hearing the phrase “Sing Over Me” I didn’t realize its significance until I found it was a phrase in the Bible, from Zephaniah 3:17. Years back, I left all to live a new life in Alaska. It was the most difficult and wonderful thing I have ever done. This scripture speaks of hope; that the hard things have run their course and that today is a new day of God’s delight and joy. That after this time of discipline, now God will sing over us. Alaska sings over me. SOLD

“Puffins in Paradise” acrylic on canvas 18×24 inches . I love to see these unbelievable creatures off the bejeweled waters in Seward Alaska. When you see them against the backdrop of the majestic mountains, it is other-worldly, and to me, it is paradise.

Living in Alaska, I have become aware of the delicate life-cycle of the salmon. They are considered the very lifeblood of Alaska. So much of the eco-system depends on them. Here I wanted to depict the last chapter of their life cycle. They leave the vast ocean to lay down their lives to ensure future generations by returning to the rivers where they were hatched. After they spawn their long and difficult journey is over and they die. A bit of heaven’s rays shine down on them as they now rest until they perish. SOLD
This painting is about the delicate balance of nature here in Alaska. Salmon are the lifeblood of the people and wildlife here. In this painting, the sea life comes together to say farewell to the salmon as they leave their life at sea to go back to the streams where they were born; there they will spawn the next generation. These sea creatures leap in the joy, hope and faith that we will steward their management wisely. If we do so, the salmon will return. Therefore they continue as a “Leap of Faith” They are shown here in the round circle symbol of eternity. 19 x 30 acrylic airbrush
“Northern nights” Airbrush on black Mat board 30×40 This is one of those paintings that ends up “painting” me. I thought the painting was just about whales. But after completing it there was a message that kept trying to reach me, and it was this: In the storms of life, when the waves close over our heads, even in the darkness-and especially in the darkness- God is there waiting for us. Just as we can’t begin to fathom the underworld mystery of whales,- there are untold wonders that can only be discovered in the darkness. And it is there, when the lights of our world have disappeared, that God will reveal the “Northern Lights” to guide us home.

Alaskan Loons 18×24 inches acrylic on Canvas. My favorite place to see Loons is at Seward Alaska. Their haunting cries touch the soul. Their striking colors are enhanced by the mineral laden waters where the glacier melt turns the ocean water from sky blue to green.
